Digital Workshop Series on Sustainable Travel for FAIRWEG

In a 6-part digital workshop series for the employees of FAIRWEG offices, practical knowledge on sustainable travel is provided. The goal is to equip travel advisors with the expertise needed to create more climate-friendly travel offerings and to advise customers on relevant topics such as sustainable transportation, certified accommodations, and responsible use of resources.

Sustainability in Focus: Practical Training for FAIRWEG

Many customers trust travel agencies when it comes to planning their perfect vacation – and many of them wish for it to be sustainable and climate-friendly, even if they don’t actively ask for it. However, there is often a lack of knowledge about how to make a trip more sustainable.

This is where travel agents come into play: With their comprehensive expertise, they can not only make an unforgettable vacation possible but also ensure that it takes place under fair and environmentally friendly conditions.

Digital Workshop Series for Sustainable Travel

To provide employees at the new FAIRWEG offices with the essential expertise, a 6-part digital workshop series was launched, led by Saskia Sánchez Buitrago, a trained travel agent and consultant for more sustainable tourism, along with Futouris project manager Tatjana Peters.

The workshops aim to raise awareness for sustainable travel through practical knowledge and intensive discussions within the group. The participating travel agents are empowered to create even more sustainable travel offerings in the future and to competently advise their customers in this area.

Eighteen participants from both existing and planned FAIRWEG offices across Germany received exciting input on various topics related to more sustainable vacations during six morning sessions. Together, they worked on practical tips for climate-friendly travel, the added value of sustainably certified accommodations for customers, and discussed what effective communication might look like.

The workshop series will be rolled out next year and will also be offered to the employees of AER Travel Manufakturen.
